Duane Clayton has been involved in real estate and construction for over 30 years.  He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and started designing and drafting plans for homes at age 15.  He supervised the construction of his first home at age 17 while attending high school.   He has also built commercial office buildings, townhouses and co-developed Ashley subdivision in Sarasota, Florida.

In 1983, Duane and his wife Linda were married in Baton Rouge and relocated to Sarasota in 1987.  Named after their daughter, Ashley subdivision was completed in 1989 and featured 50 one-acre lots situated on 100 acres of land located just east of I-75.  Duane built his first home in Ashley subdivision in 1990.

Duane built homes in Ashley, Turtle Rock, Timberlake and Cherokee Park through 1997.  Since then, he has been employed by two national home builders and one
